Travel Insurance Credit Card FreeOn June 22, 2019 by admin
When applying for a credit card, it is also good to consider your own travel patterns, as credit cards offer many benefits to the traveler. For example, many people get separate travel insurance from an insurance company, even though their own credit card may include a comprehensive insurance: travel insurance can be found on more than 20 Finnish credit cards. However, the terms and conditions of travel insurance and coverage vary between the cards, so it is a good idea to carefully read the insurance policies offered by your credit card before applying for a card.
In our Travel Insurance Guide, we’ll walk you through the basics of credit card travel insurance: what travel insurance covers, under what conditions, and how to claim.
What Can Credit Card Travel Insurance Include?
Credit card travel insurance usually includes at least medical expenses reimbursement, cancellation insurance and luggage insurance. There are differences in the amount of claims and luggage deductibles, which should be checked against the terms and conditions. In addition, the travel area and duration may vary.
Before comparing credit card travel insurance, it’s good to know which credit cards include travel insurance. This can easily be seen in our comprehensive credit card comparison.
Reimbursement of medical expenses
Credit card travel insurance covers medical expenses to varying degrees. At best, treatment will be reimbursed without an upper limit, but a few cards will have, for example, a limit of € 200,000 or € 30,000. Some cards also require a $ 50 deductible for health insurance coverage. The most comprehensive sickness compensation can be found on American Express, Amex, which also covers acute dental care during the trip.
When it comes to reimbursement of medical expenses, it is important to note that some of the cards only cover treatment abroad, which is why it is always advisable to check your travel insurance terms and conditions by card.
In most cases, luggage compensation involves some form of deductible, ranging from EUR 50 to EUR 150. Of course, certain Premium Cards offer luggage compensation without deductible and with a high compensation ceiling. At best, luggage is replaced up to € 3400.
